Personal training is available in-person and remotely. In-person sessions are available at the John Wooden Center, Kinross Recreation Center, Bruin Fitness Center, and Drake Stadium. Location will be determined based on client goals and facility availability.

Get Started

Step 1: Complete an application. Read and complete the following forms:

  • Participant Information
  • Pre-participation Screening
  • Physician’s Release (Download this form if needed based on answers to Pre-participation Screening)

Step 2:Purchase Sessions - Personal Training, Private Pilates, Private Yoga

Purchase session(s) online prior to your first appointment. Please forward the receipt indicating proof of purchase to your trainer.

Step 3: Schedule training sessions. A FITWELL Coordinator will contact you within three business days to connect you with a trainer.

Online Personal Fitness Training

Online Training Package - BASIC

Four weeks of personalized exercise programming (3 workouts per week), plus 1 full-length session for assessments. 

This package is best suited for an experienced exerciser who is looking for effective programming and help with specific fitness goals. Ideally, this client has proper and safe exercise form and is comfortable working out independently. 

After an in-depth assessment and goal-setting session, personalized workouts will be delivered via the UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Training app, powered by ABC Trainerize. You will have access to your trainer via the app throughout your 4-week program. Trainers will update online programs based on client exercise logs in the app.

    Online Training Package - PLUS

    Four weeks of personalized exercise programming (3 workouts per week), plus 1 full-length session for assessments. Client also receives one live 30-minute check-in per week - virtually or in-person.

    This package is best suited for a client who has some exercise experience but would prefer more face time with the trainer for Q&A, form and safety checks, and education. If you're learning new and complex movements, this may be the package for you. 

    After an in-depth assessment and goal-setting session, personalized workouts will be delivered via the UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Training app, powered by ABC Trainerize. You will have access to your trainer via the app throughout your 4-week program. Trainers will update online programs based on client exercise logs in the app.

    Online Training Package - ULTIMATE

    Four weeks of personalized exercise programming (3 workouts per week), plus 1 full-length session for assessments. Client also receives two live 30-minute check-in per week - virtually or in-person.

    This package is best suited for someone beginning or returning to an exercise routine, who is looking for extra guidance and face time with the trainer for Q&A, form and safety checks, and education. If you're recovering from injury or have had a change in medical history, this may be the package for you. 

    After an in-depth assessment and goal-setting session, personalized workouts will be delivered via the UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Training app, powered by ABC Trainerize. You will have access to your trainer via the app throughout your 4-week program. Trainers will update online programs based on client exercise logs in the app.

    Getting Started with Online Personal Training:

    • To request online personal fitness training, complete the online personal fitness training application:
      https://uclacampuslife.formstack.com/workflows/personalized_recreation_instruction
    • You will be connected to a trainer via email. Please purchase your package before your assessment session.
    • Following the first session with the trainer, you will receive an invitation to download the personal training app. Trainer and client will determine the program start date during the assessment session.

    Online Personal Training Policies:

    • All sessions expire one year after the date of purchase. Unused sessions that have not expired are eligible for a refund minus a $25 processing fee.
    • If you do not appear for a scheduled appointment or fail to give 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the full session. You must receive a confirmation email from the instructor.

    Personal Fitness Training Policies

    • All required forms must be completed, current and on file prior to each session.
    • All forms expire 12 months from completion date or as medical history changes.
    • All clients must wear appropriate footwear and clothing to each session.

    *Personal Fitness Training on the premises of any UCLA Recreation facility is restricted to UCLA Recreation Personal Fitness Trainers (PFT) only. Any participant who is conducting or is suspected of conducting personal fitness training with a patron in a UCLA Recreation facility and who is not a UCLA Recreation PFT will have membership privileges reviewed and/or revoked.
