UCLA Teaching Kitchen

The UCLA Teaching Kitchen was developed as an educational, interactive space to meet the needs of the campus community in areas of nutrition education, food insecurity, culinary skills, and community engagement. Programs will range from Medical School students, to faculty and staff wellness programs, to summer camps, to student groups.

Past Virtual Workshops have included: Baking Swaps

Baking Workshop focusing on recipes that make healthy ingredient swaps! Each week we'll learn how to make a new delicious baked treat while progressively building our knowledge as all-around bakers!

Cooking Workshop focusing on vegan cuisine. Learn delicious, healthy, affordable recipes that are good for the planet AND our bodies. Whether you live a vegan lifestyle or not, learning versatile ways of using fruits, vegetables, and grains can help you become a more well-rounded cook!

Past In Person Workshops have included: Bread for Beginners

Baking bread is one of the most amazing combinations of art and science, it's an important life-skill, and it's also a hobby that provides great stress-relief! We'll learn recipes and methods to make rustic, healthy, delicious French Bread that each participant will be allowed to take home!

Each “Bread for Beginners” offering includes 2 one-hour workshops over 2 days: Workshop 1 to make the dough and Workshop 2 to bake the dough. You must be able to attend both days.

Past In Person Workshops have included: $10/30:00

Under $10 - Less than 30 minutes! In these workshops you'll learn easy, nutritious, and affordable recipes that can be made in a short amount of time. Fast food doesn't have to be unhealthy and healthy food doesn't have to be expensive! We'll learn to make Overnight Oats, Southwest Taco Salad, & One-Skillet Mediterranean Chicken & Rice! (vegan & GF options will be available).

Past Instagram Lives have included: Microwaver Gourmet, Select Fridays 12pm

Easy & delicious recipes made in the microwave and/or cold items that can be made with basic tools like a knife, cutting board, and bowl
