UCLA Teaching Kitchen
The UCLA Teaching Kitchen was developed as an educational, interactive space to meet the needs of the campus community in areas of nutrition education, food insecurity, culinary skills, and community engagement. Programs will range from Medical School students, to faculty and staff wellness programs, to summer camps, to student groups.

Learn a delicious, healthy recipe while practicing basic knife skills and important cooking methods. Using either vegetarian or vegan ingredients, participants will create their own flavorful Veggie Quesadilla with Fresh Guacamole! Not only will students gain confidence in fundamental cooking skills, they’ll finish with a tasty homemade meal! Each Culinary Bootcamp workshop will be the same, choose the one that works best for your schedule.

Cooking Workshop focusing on vegan cuisine. Learn delicious, healthy, affordable recipes that are good for the planet AND our bodies. Whether you live a vegan lifestyle or not, learning versatile ways of using fruits, vegetables, and grains can help you become a more well-rounded cook! In this workshop we’ll learn to make a tasty Vegan One-Pot Pasta with Kale, Mushrooms, & Tomatoes! Each That Plant-Based Life workshop will be the same, choose the one that works best for your schedule.

Baking bread is one of the most amazing combinations of art and science, it's an important life-skill, and it's also a hobby that provides great stress-relief! We'll learn recipes and methods to make rustic, healthy, delicious French Bread that each participant will be allowed to take home! Each “Bread for Beginners” offering includes 2 workshops over 2 days: Workshop 1 to make the dough and Workshop 2 to bake the dough. You must be able to attend both days. Each Bread for Beginners workshop will be the same, choose the sessions that works best for your schedule.

There are so many delicious cuisines Around the World to celebrate and learn from! In these sessions we'll be making traditional recipes from different cuisines around the world. These workshops focus on slightly more advanced skills, but all skill-levels are welcome! Registration for each workshop will open two weeks prior to the scheduled class time, mark your calendars!

We all need a treat sometimes, this workshop provides delicious baking recipes made with healthier ingredient swaps so we can enjoy those treats even more! We’ll learn to make Whole Wheat & Almond Flour Thumbprint Cookies– you’d never know they are healthier! We’re celebrating delicious plant-based recipes with our Meatless Monday series - cook-along with us or simply watch to learn a healthy, affordable, tasty dish! Shopping lists and recipes will be provided in advance so you can follow along in your own kitchens.
Each Meatless Monday workshop will be different, sign up for as many as you can to learn even more yummy recipes!
Don't get us wrong, salads are amazing, but there are so many more tasty recipes that can be made without a full kitchen! Learn quick, healthy, & delicious recipes that can be made with minimal equipment.

Fast food doesn't have to be unhealthy and healthy food doesn't have to be expensive! We'll learn to make Overnight Oats, Southwest Taco Salad, & One-Skillet Mediterranean Chicken & Rice! (vegan & GF options will be available).
